Teen Summer Pottery Intensive

A$330.00

For ages 12–17 years

Tuesdays & Fridays, 10am–12pm (Jan 5, 8, 12 & 19)

A summer holiday pottery course for teens!

Across four sessions, students will learn how to work with clay using both the pottery wheel and handbuilding techniques. They'll have the opportunity to experiment, develop their skills and create their own pieces to take home.

No previous pottery experience is needed.

Students will learn how to:

  • Prepare and work with clay

  • Centre clay and throw on the pottery wheel

  • Create pots using handbuilding techniques

  • Trim, decorate and finish their pieces

  • Glaze their pottery with a selection of studio glazes

The first three sessions will focus on making and finishing pieces, followed by a break to allow everything to dry and be bisque fired. Students will return on January 19 for a final glazing session.

We provide all clay, tools, equipment and glazes used during the course.

Please note:

The price includes all clay, in-house glazes, studio equipment and tools used during each class. Please note—there is a seperate fee for all work we fire in our kilns. The firing fee is $12 per kilo (roughly 5 small pots), payable when you collect your finished work.

This is a drop-off course designed for teenagers aged 12–17. Parents are welcome to stay nearby and enjoy a coffee in the garden at Prairie Coffeehouse while the class is running.
